It all began when Taxumo co-founder EJ saw his entrepreneur wife, Ginger, struggling with the operational burden of tax compliance for her startup, Manila Workshops. Complex BIR reporting took significant focus away from strategic business growth. The critical turning point occurred when an external accounting error resulted in missed filing deadlines and costly statutory penalties.

To solve this operational bottleneck, EJ engineered an automated business compliance platform designed to calculate, prepare, and file tax returns with total accuracy. The solution proved so effective that the founders scaled it into a full enterprise compliance engine.
