BIR Extends Tax Deadlines for Typhoon-Affected Areas

BIR Extends Tax Deadlines for Typhoon-Affected Areas

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has announced an extension for all tax filing, payment, and submission deadlines until November 28, 2025 in response to the severe impact of Super Typhoon Uwan. This extension covers taxpayers in the following areas:

Entire NCR (National Capital Region) CAR (Cordillera Administrative Region) Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, and VIII and all Revenue District Offices (RDOs) listed in the circulars:

According to the BIR, this move aims to give taxpayers, BIR personnel, and Authorized Agent Banks in the affected regions enough time to comply without penalties, surcharges, or interest, as long as filings and payments are made within the extended period.

What Taxumo Users Should Do

If your business or registered address falls within the covered regions, here’s what you need to know:

1. You have until November 26, 2025 (Taxumo deadline) to file your taxes.

Taxumo’s deadline is always 2 working days before the BIR deadline. You can still file and pay through Taxumo anytime before this date. The system remains open and will automatically record your filing date for compliance tracking. From November 27, 2025 onwards, filings should include penalty computations already (more on this below)

2. No penalties if filed within the extended period.

The BIR confirmed that no penalties, surcharge, or interest will apply for filings made within the extension window. What to do in Taxumo: When filing, simply untick the “Include Penalties” box in your Taxumo form before proceeding with payment. You can untick this until November 26, 2025 (11:59 pm). If filing is made on November 27, 2025 onwards, please do not untick the box so computation will include penalties.

3. Keep your proof of filing and payment.

Make sure that you have filed the form using Taxumo. Status should be “processing”. After a few days, check and download your BIR confirmation, proof of payment, and attachment confirmation (if applicable) — these serve as your official compliance records.

4. Stay safe and take care.

Taxumo joins the BIR in encouraging everyone in affected areas to prioritize safety. You can always file online once you have stable internet and electricity access.
